Educating through sport
The Capital Group is committed to the education of children and the youth through sport. For a few years now, the company has supported, in material and financial terms, sports clubs in the towns where its subsidiaries and production plants are located. Thanks to the support of the companies of the Capital Group, children regularly practise sports; as a result, the idea of promoting amateur sport activities in these towns lives on and thrives.
‘Plaża Open’ beach volleyball tournament, i.e. a series of a few tournaments played on sand courts throughout Poland, was a local sports initiative in which Grupa Kęty became involved for the first time in 2013. Guided by the principle of educating through sport, upon the initiative of Grupa Kęty, the tournament was expanded with ‘Młoda Plaża Open’ tournament for the youth, for which Grupa Kęty was the Chief Partner. Owing to the company’s commitment, a few dozen boys and girls under 18 years of age participated in the tournaments in Kęty and Cieszyn. - “Not only does sport help children develop physically, but also teaches them self-discipline and regularity, which are critical factors in young people’s upbringing process.Hence, our active approach to this problem,” says Dariusz Mańko, President of the Management Board of Grupa Kęty S.A.
Supporting sports clubs
- ‘Goleszów’ Public Sports Club
‘Goleszów’ Public Sports Club (football) supported financially by Metalplast-Stolarka Sp. z o.o. The club has over 100 players in five teams, which play in leagues. Juniors football team plays in A-level district football league (second junior league in Silesia region), competing with such football teams as Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała, Koszarawa Żywie, Piast Cieszyn, Beskid Skoczów. Apart from teams playing in leagues, the club also offers basic training for the youngest children who are divided into two groups, i.e. kindergarten group and primary school pupils team (‘Żaki’).

Sporting initiatives
- ‘Młoda Plaża OPEN’ beach volleyball tournament
The Capital Group is keen to get involved in local sports events, such as ‘Młoda Plaża OPEN’ beach volleyball tournaments cycle for children and the youth from Podbeskidzie region.
Grupa Kęty S.A. is the Chief Partner of ‘Młoda Plaża OPEN’ tournaments cycle (2013, 2014, 2015).

- REKSIO THE DOG’s Cup
Skiing competition for children aged 3-13 called 3rd REKSIO THE DOG’s Cup (2 February 2013) is another local sporting event in which Grupa Kęty is involved.
Over 300 young skiers participated in this year’s edition; they competed on the slope with great ambition. The competition was organised mainly by KS LIVE. ‘Grupa Kęty Dzieciom Podbeskidzia’ (‘Grupa Kęty to the Children of Podbeskidzie Region’) Foundation along with GRUPA KĘTY were the Partners of this Cup. Children of the employees of the companies of the Capital Group participated in the competition and the Management Board of Grupa Kęty S.A. paid their enrolment fees and for their passes to use ski lifts. Following the idea of educating through sport which lies behind the activities of the whole Capital Group, we strive to encourage also our employees and their children to be active and practice sport. I am happy that in this year’s edition of REKSIO THE DOG’S CUP, a few dozen children of the employees of the companies of the Capital Group participated,” says Dariusz Mańko, President of the Management Board of GRUPA KĘTY S.A. He adds: “I hope that each year our sport family will grow bigger and bigger.”
