When defining its stakeholders, the Capital Group of Grupa Kęty S.A. does not forget that its employees are also its stakeholders. It strives to make them ambassadors of their employer.
HR management principles of Grupa Kęty include:
- the creation of friendly and safe workplace;
- openness to constructive ideas and comments from employees;
- focusing on obtaining feedback from employees;
- proper motivating of employees to work for common good, i.e. the success of a responsible company;
- encouraging employees to get involved, on a partnership basis, in social initiatives, voluntary work;
- making it possible for employees to develop personal competencies.
Safe work
Employees’ health and safety are overriding values in the strategies of all companies of the Capital Group.
In 2010, we launched the Safe Work programme, as part of which we are building the employees’ awareness concerning their impact upon their and other people’s safety. Preventative measure comprise, apart from basic statutory ones, e.g. additional H&S and fire protection training courses with reference to the specific nature of operations of a given company.
Statistics for the Capital Group in 2013:
- almost 14,000 man-hours of compulsory training courses
- over 1,200 employees trained in compulsory H&S areas
- over 1,300 man-hours of additional training courses
- 87 employees trained at additional specialist courses
To visualise the idea of the programme, in production companies we assembled displays (e.g. text displays, plasma screens) showing information about the number of days worked without accidents. In addition, dedicated message boards were put up to present information and news. Suggestions systems allow employees to report potential hazards at workplace or specific improvements. For this purpose, we placed suggestions boxes, and in the companies where all employees have access to e-mail facilities, there are optional separate mailboxes.
The implementation of the programme contributed in the Capital Group of Grupa Kęty S.A. to the reduction in the number of accidents – already in 2011 by over 50% as compared to the previous year’s figures. The lowest number of accidents in 2013 (only one!) was recorded in the Flexible Packaging Segment.

Traineeships for students
The Capital Group is open to the issue of creating conditions for young people to help them gain on-the-job knowledge and training.
Internships and traineeships are among the most effective ways to learn more about the organisation, specific nature of its operations and the future profession, on the one hand, and to select proper staff, on the other hand, and this is the motto of HR services in the Capital Group.
Depending on the specific nature of a given company of the Group, the cooperation takes on various forms, e.g. summer traineeships, internships for students or the cooperation with schools of higher education.
Supporting measures
- Artistic contests for employees’ children
For a few years now in ALUPROF S.A. and since 2013 in all companies of the Capital Group, we have been organising annual artistic contests for our employees’ children aged 2-16. The number of children participating in this project is growing each year. In the 2015 edition, more than 700 artistic works were submitted in the whole Capital Group. Awards are given by each company separately; however, it is important that all children are awarded, depending on their age group, with Lego bricks or gift vouchers to buy products in Empik or Decathlon. The companies combine the awarding ceremony with tours around the plant for the youngest children or, for example, planting trees together.
- A sound mind in a sound body.
Two companies of the Capital Group will co-finance MULTISPORT Cards for their employees, thus supporting the physical activities of their employees.
